Born prematurely at just 32 weeks of pregnancy, Baby Poonam weighed only 1.6 kg at birth and is now fighting for her life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
She is suffering from multiple complications, including:
Preterm Birth & Low Birth Weight (LBW)
Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS)
Clinical Sepsis
Necrotizing Enterocolitis (Severe Intestinal Condition)
She requires 2–3 weeks of intensive care, continuous oxygen therapy, IV antibiotics, and nutritional support to stabilize her fragile health.
Doctors at Sai Sparsh Children’s Hospital, Kolhapur have estimated her total treatment cost between ₹1.5 – ₹2.5 lakh, depending on her recovery.
FAMILY IN CRISIS
Poonam’s father, Mr. Pravin Hatake, works as a daily wage labourer and earns just ₹34,000 annually, as verified by the local Tahsildar’s office.
The family resides in a small village in Radhanagari, District Kolhapur, and is struggling even to meet daily needs. Bearing the high cost of NICU care and medicines is beyond their reach.
Despite their poverty, the family is doing everything possible to save their newborn—but they now depend entirely on compassionate individuals for help.
ESTIMATED MEDICAL EXPENSES
NICU Intensive Care: ₹1,50,000/-
Medicines and Consumables: ₹70,000/-
